Method
Along the length: n₁ × 2.4 + n₂ × 1.2 + … ≤ L, filler = L − Σ
Up the height: choose panel heights with total ≥ H (least overshoot, then fewest panels)
Panels = columns × levels × faces
Vertical joints = (columns − 1 + filler) × levels × faces
Worked example
A wall 10 m long, 3 m pour, both faces, panels 2.4/1.2/0.9/0.6/0.3 m wide and 2.7/1.2/0.6 m high:
- Length: 4 × 2.4 + 1 × 0.3 = 9.9 m → 0.1 m filler per face
- Height: 2 × 1.2 + 1 × 0.6 = 3.0 m exactly (a 2.7 m panel + 0.6 would overshoot by 0.3 m)
- Panels = 5 columns × 3 levels × 2 faces = 30 panels: 16 of 2.4 × 1.2, 8 of 2.4 × 0.6, 4 of 0.3 × 1.2, 2 of 0.3 × 0.6
Best stacks with 2.7 / 1.2 / 0.6 m panels
| Pour height | Stack | Stack height |
|---|---|---|
| 1.8 m | 1.2 + 0.6 | 1.8 m |
| 2.4 m | 1.2 + 1.2 | 2.4 m |
| 2.7 m | 2.7 | 2.7 m |
| 3.0 m | 1.2 + 1.2 + 0.6 | 3.0 m |
| 3.3 m | 2.7 + 0.6 | 3.3 m |
| 3.6 m | 1.2 × 3 | 3.6 m |
| 4.2 m | 1.2 × 3 + 0.6 | 4.2 m |
| 5.4 m | 2.7 × 2 | 5.4 m |
Assumptions
- Typical modular sizes; your supplier’s range and their preferred layouts take priority.
- Panels laid portrait in every column; corners and stop-ends use system corner units.
